Family Farm History/Legacy:


The Boen Farm in Otter Tail County was homesteaded in the 1800’s
by Mark’s grandfather, and as was the natural transition in those
days, the farm then went to Mark’s father, who farmed it for many
years. The farm was then taken over in 1982 by Mark and Diane, who have
farmed it by turning it into the current vegetable farm, Bluebird
Gardens Inc.


After running a successful Farmers Market and CSA for 39 years, because
of unforeseen circumstances and health reasons, Mark made the very
difficult decision to retire from vegetable farming, which has been his
life’s passion for almost four decades.
