September 3, 2015 (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – The National Auctioneers Association recently crowned United Country Real Estate and Auction Services’ Tammy Tisland the women’s International Auctioneer Champion. Tisland adds to United Country’s champion list that includes Cary Aasness, 2005 champion, and Mike Jones, 1998 champion.Held in July each year, The International Auctioneer Championship is a platform used to find the ambassador for the National Auctioneers Association. It is judged based on presentation, voice and chant, and overall effectiveness. This year, Tisland competed against 24 other women who were all vying for the title.“It started as a dream,” said Tisland. “If you implement the goal, it can become a dream. That goal becomes part of who you are and what you represent as an auctioneer. It’s a way of life. Selling and buying real estate is a very emotional thing. The auction process is based on a lot of emotions. It’s what is in your heart and your heart has to show that you are willing to serve in order to be a champion.”As the champion, Tisland, along with the men’s division champion, Peter Gehres, will travel across the United States presenting seminars on topics ranging from selling real estate to being an effective auctioneer. She is confident that her 15 years of auctioneering experience will help others.“All of those years as a full time auctioneer and gaining that experience prepared me to win this competition,” said Tisland. “This small town girl of just 20 people just became the international champion. It shows that no matter where you are from, you can achieve your goals. I did it. You can do it. We all just need that little spark of inspiration.”Tisland attributes her success to experience, heart and being part of a great team. Currently, she is an auctioneer for United Country – Aasness Auctioneers Auction and Real Estate in Fergus Falls, Minn., where she works with 2005 Champion Cary Aasness.“There are only a handful of International Auctioneer Champions in the world and United Country has three,” said Tisland. “When you get people that are dedicated, hard-working, and honest, it doesn’t get much better than that for a seller and buyer. United Country is full of these amazing auctioneers and real estate agents.”“We pride ourselves on affiliating with leading auctioneers and champions in the industry just like Tammy,” said Shawn Terrel, executive vice president of United Country Auction Services. “Our company could not be more pleased with all of her recent accomplishments. Her dedication to the promotion and professionalism of the auction industry is a testament to both Tammy and to all auction industry leaders.”For more information about Tisland and the team at United Country – Real Estate and Auction Services, LLC, call 866-538-0333 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
