May 9, 2016 (KANSAS CITY, Mo.) – Trisha Brauer, a real estate agent and auctioneer with United Country – Kansas City Auction and Realty, recently announced her candidacy for the 2016 Board of Directors for the National Auctioneers Association (NAA).
The NAA is a membership-based organization and the world’s largest professional association dedicated to auction professionals. In order to obtain a seat on the board, interested NAA members must complete an application process and conduct an interview with the nominating committee. Brauer said she is a strong advocate for the NAA and is in it for the long haul.
“My dedication doesn’t stop with winning a seat on the board of directors,” said Brauer. “I have a vision for our organization that will strengthen the existing plan to year 2020 and will help shape our progress as we move towards 2025. The auction industry has given me so much in terms of education, resources, opportunity, support and confidence. I’m ready to pay this gift forward.”
Brauer plans to bring a lot of enthusiasm, education and experience to the NAA board. With 12 years in the auction industry, an MBA in marketing and sales, BAS and CAI certifications and experience as an instructor for the NAA and World Wide College of Auctioneering, Brauer said she is a prime candidate for the open seat.
“I have the desire and I feel I have a lot to contribute,” she said. “I have an established work ethic, I am very strong in the area of adult education and I believe I am a model example of why the NAA works and why it is important.”
Shawn Terrel, executive vice-president of United Country Auction Services and NAA member, echoes Brauer’s statement. He said the United Country team fully supports and endorses Brauer’s run for the NAA board of directors.
“I have had the pleasure of working directly with Trisha Brauer over the years in my company and believe she has the drive, vision and the determination to be an excellent steward for our industry by acting in this capacity. As a company that is committed to advancing the professionalism of the auction industry and takes pride in our support of the National Auctioneers Association and their efforts, we are proud to endorse Trisha Brauer as a candidate for the NAA board of director, said Shawn Terrel, executive vice president of United Country Auction Services. “Having served on the NAA board of directors myself, I understand the amount of commitment and dedication this position requires from an individual, if we are going to advance the organization forward.”
Voting for the NAA Board of Directors seat will take place on July 21 at the Conference and Show in Grand Rapids, Mich. If you cannot attend the conference, members can complete an absentee ballot by downloading them on NAA’s website.
