Scott Lindsey started working in the timber industry in 1986 while attending high school. After graduating from Mississippi State University School of Forest Resources, Scott started his own full-service forestry consulting firm in McComb, Miss. His firm, Lindsey Forestry Service, exclusively handled the timber inventory for listings at the local United Country office, Gibson Realty, which he later joined full time.

He earned his real estate license in 2006 and has been a top agent within the United Country network almost every year since – placing first in the  nation in 2010 and 2011. Scott has vast experience in timber and  recreational land sales and acquisitions. He serves numerous clients,  including private landowners, and industrial and investment groups. He is an avid hunter and outdoorsman with a true passion for nature.

Scott is a Mississippi Registered Forester, an RLI member with the  prestigious ALC designation and a Certified QVM Advisor for BASF  (quality vegetative management). He is also a member of the local forestry  associations, having served as a board member on the Southwest  Mississippi Forestry Association.

Scott and his wife Suzanne have 3 beautiful children and are active members at Thompson Baptist Church.

C. Paul Major, is a 1973 graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry. Paul has been a professional forestry consultant since 1985 and worked for eleven years prior to that with the forest industry. He is a Registered Forester in North and South Carolina and is also licensed as a South Carolina Real Estate Broker and as a South Carolina Certified General Real Estate Appraiser – a designation few foresters possess. Paul earned the “ACF” designation of the Association of Consulting Foresters (ACF) in 1991 and has served as the Chairman of the South Carolina Chapter of the ACF. He has also received the designation of “Certified Forester” by the Society of American Foresters (SAF). Paul holds membership in a number of other professional organizations, including the South Carolina Forestry Association; Foresters Council of South Carolina (1998-2001); Forest Landowners Association, Inc.; and landowner associations in Newberry, Saluda, and Union Counties of South Carolina.

Mike is a Registered Consultant Forester and a 1989 Graduate from Auburn University School of Forestry where he majored in Forest Management. He is a Certified Burn Manager, a Qualified Alabama Tree Farm Inspector and a Member of the Association of Consulting Foresters. Mike grew up and lives in Jackson, Alabama with his wife Cammie. Mike specializes in timber appraisals, timberland investment properties, recreational properties and forest management. As an avid outdoorsman, he appreciates and knows good recreational and timberland investment properties when he sees them. When he’s not hunting or fishing, he is usually in his shop making custom hand-made slate, box and wing-bone turkey calls. Mike uses his knowledge of forestry and current timber markets when evaluating properties for his clients. His primary area is Southwest Alabama. In 1974, Jib moved from Sarasota to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida and received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Management from the School of Forest Resources and Conservation in 1978. Furthering his education, Jib earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Real Estate from the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business in 1983. Since that time, Jib has attended numerous finance, taxation, and land management courses as continuing education has always been an important part of his working environment.

Jib began his professional career as a forester working for Georgia-Pacific Corporation in 1977. Initially, he worked in timber procurement, then transferred to land management where he managed 117,611 acres of timberland in Gulf Hammock, Fl.

In 1984, Jib founded a land management and forest consulting company in Gainesville, Florida, offering land acquisition and sales, timber appraisals, timber investment analysis, timber sales, reforestation, site preparation, timber taxation, and other land management services for private landowners, industry, and government. In 1989, Jib and Norman McRae were offered a timber dealership and co-founded Columbia Timber Company.

Jib currently specializes in land and forest finance, tax deferred 1031 exchanges, timber and land taxation, investment analysis, development permitting including wetlands delineation and mitigation plans, real estate marketing and acquisitions, and land management. He has been an adjunct instructor at the University of Florida’s School of Forestry Resources and Conservation teaching a senior course in Forest management, and has taught many courses in land management and real estate finance at Santa Fe Community College’s Community Education Program. Jib is a Florida licensed real estate broker, a SAF Certified Forester, a Master Logger, and he holds memberships in the Society of American Foresters, Florida Forestry Association, American Forest Institute Tree Farm Program, and the Forest Farmers Association.

On a personal note, Jib has been a Cub Scout Master, a Boy Scout leader and merit badge counselor, President of his homeowners association, an active member of the Gainesville Sail and Power Squadron and the Gulf Atlantic Yacht Club. Jib married his college sweetheart, Teresa, in 1978 and they have two boys.
