Description

FARM NAME: Progress Farm

DESCRIPTION: This irrigated farm is located in southern Parmer County north of Progress.  This farm is level to gently sloping.  A portion of the irrigated farm has been planted to an improved perennial grass that is a 4 way mix that would work great for an intensive grazing operation or hay production while providing excellent cover for small game.  This farm has good accessibility with a maintained county road on its south border.  This farm is equipped with a 7-tower Valley Irrigation system.  This grass on this farm could be sprayed with herbicide and used to provide cover this spring if new owner desires to plant to a minimum till row-crop such as cotton.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION: JOHNSON X, LOT SW/4 OF SEC 17, ACRES 160

TOPOGRAPHY: NE quadrant of farm is flat to gently sloping with more slope from the center of farm south and west.  Elevations range from 3954 feet at the center pivot to 3930 in the SW corner.

IMPROVEMENTS: 2012 Valley 7-Tower Irrigation System, two irrigation wells equipped with submersible pumps

WATER FEATURES:  There are no permanent above ground running or standing water features on tract with exception of small drainage in SW corner.  The farm does have two freshwater wells that are currently used for irrigation through pivot irrigation system.  Owner estimates wells are pumping between 150 to 175 gpm total for the farm.
