The Moro Big Pine Forty (#03019–03732) is a +/- 40-acre (per Tax Assessor Records) tract of timberland located in southern Calhoun County about 10 miles southeast of Hampton, AR (North 33.408391°, West 92.40293°). The western boundary line borders Moro Big Pine Natural Area-Wildlife Management Area, a state conservation easement available for hunting and public access nearly 16,000 acres in size! Most of the topography is generally flat to gently rolling. Access to the northwestern corner of the property is available with a dirt woodsroad running about a half-mile east of Calhoun RD #34. The tract features roughly 33 acres of pine timberland and another 7 acres of hardwood flatland along the northeastern edge. According to the USDA NRCS web soil survey, the soils consist of Amy silt loam and other fine sandy loams which give the tract a weighted average site index of 87.3 feet for Loblolly Pine (base age 50).
