Castro County Irrigated Farm close to Springlake, Texas

The farm consists of 320 acres which 240 acres that can be irrigated with 2 pivot irrigation systems which are tied together with underground line. There are three wells which are equipped with submersible pumps and the well depth is estimated to be between 312’ to 327’ to red bed (High Plains Water District Driller Logs). Pivots are currently run one at at time with 3 wells and are currently packaged at 175 gpm tenant has stated late in growing season they were not maintaining prescribed pressure. There is potential room to drill more wells as all of the active wells are located in the North and East portions of the farm.  There is also an old abandoned, (no driller log available) Vertical Turbine Pump on the Western property just off CR 512. 

Soils

Potential Waterfowl and Recreational Hunting in Wet Weather Pond

The seasonal wet area could be further developed as a potential recreational area for water fowl, pheasant and other wildlife.  There are also a couple of large trees that could have recreational potential as well.
