This property is located approximately one mile from the 1.5 million acre Ouchita National Forest where your recreational opportunities  such as hunting, hiking, camping and ATV riding are endless.  The boat ramp at Victor Landing is 10 miles north where you can launch your boat for a day of fishing or water sports on Wister Lake.  The Wister Wildlife Management Area is less than two miles from this location for excellent deer, hog, turkey, bear, duck and small game hunting.  Other area points of interest include The Heavener Runestone, Cavanal Hill, Talimena Scenic Byway and Cedar Lake Recreational Site. Broken Bow, Kerr and Sardis Lakes are all within a short drive for additional waterfowl hunting and fishing opportunities.  Hochatown is about an hour drive to the south.

LOCAL SERVICES

Summerfield is located about two miles away for grocery shopping and fuel.  Wister, Talihina, Heavener and Poteau are all a short drive for additional shopping, dining and other amenities.  Fort Smith, Arkansas is the largest city in the area and is about an hour drive away.  Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center and Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital are both within a 30 minute drive for medical care.  Fire protection is provided by Summerfield and Wister Fire Departments and emergency medical care is provided by EMS of LeFlore County.  The Poteau Municipal Airport is 30 miles away.

UTILITIES

Electrical service provided by Kiamichi Electric Cooperative, is located at the property line.  A rural water line runs across the property but the water district has a hold on placing any new meters for the foreseeable future.  Given that, a water well would need to be drilled.  Propane delivery service is available from multiple vendors in the area.  Verizon cell service is excellent in the area and there is landline phone service at the property line.  This property is located on both rural mail and school bus routes.
