Askov, MN

Askov is a city in Pine County, Minnesota. It is just 5
minutes east of I-35, for easy commuting to the Cities, and MN Hwy 23 serves as
a main arterial route in the community and offers a scenic drive to Duluth. The
Kettle
River
and Partridge Creek both flow nearby. Banning State Park is also nearby.

Establish
in 1906, Askov is one of the oldest Danish settlements in MN. Known as the
“rutabaga capital of the world”, it is home to an annual “Fair and Rutabaga Festival
held each August. Askov has a city park and quaint Main Street, which is home
to Doc’s on 23, Deep Rock (gas, auto repair, light groceries), and other small
shops, restaurants, offices, post office, bank, hardware store, and more.

Askov is serviced,
along with Sandstone, by the East Central School District, a K-12 school that also

located between the two towns, just off of I-35 near Banning Junction.
