Description
The Beech Creek Tract (#03019–03743) is a +/- 28-acre (per tax record) tract of timberland located in southwestern Ouachita County about five miles northeast of Stephens, AR (North 33.449421°, West 93.000367°). The topography consists well-drained rolling hills sloping downwards towards the east where Beech Creek flows through. Access is with county road #3 running along the southern edge of the property. Some utilities are along this road allowing for camp/home site potential within the Camden-Fairview School District. About 22 acres were planted with pine around the year 2002 and have yet to be first-thinned. A hardwood bottomland formed by Beech Creek takes up another seven acres. According to the USDA NRCS web soil survey, the property is based upon an assortment of sandy loams which give the tract a weighted average site index of 88.8 feet for Loblolly Pine (base age 50) for the portion rated.
