Description
Have you ever dreamed of owning part of a mountain? Well, this is your chance! Welcome to Kings Mountain in Orrington Maine. This twenty-eight-acre parcel is located on the northwest side of the mountain with panoramic views of nearby lakes and ponds.
The land is also located within the boundaries of the Orrington Game Sanctuary also known as Kings Mountain Game Sanctuary. This State refuge for game animals takes in about fifteen hundred acres in Southern Penobscot County.
The elevations run from 500 to 640 feet above sea level with a topography that lends itself to a daylight foundation. A Maine log home, contemporary home or a simple cabin, whatever you decide to build can be situated to take advantage of the amazing scenery.
The property has a beautiful mature forest with majestic spruce trees that expand over forty feet in height. You will find a nice mixture of hardwood species, including some old Oaks that feed the deer. Along the road frontage is a small field of about half an acre that has some apple trees with a seasonal brook that flows alongside the fruit trees.
The back of the property has a powerline easement which provides direct access to the snowmobile trails. This is a great place to do some hiking as the topography will keep you in shape.
If you enjoy boating, the boat launch to Brewer Lake is less than a 10-minute drive. Brewer Lake takes in the towns of Orrington, Bucksport and Holden Maine. With nearly 1000 acres of water, you can spend a relaxing day on your boat fishing or just soaking up the sun. If you enjoy the salt water, the boat launch in South Orrington is about a 15-minute drive. You can boat from here 20 miles down river into Penobscot Bay. From Penobscot Bay, you could dock in Belfast and enjoy one of the many fine restaurants this coastal town has to offer.
The town of Orrington was incorporated in 1788 and today has a population of around 3,800 people. The city of Bangor is less than twenty minutes from the property. Driving time from Boston is just under four hours and forty-five minutes by plane.
