swimming. Thorndike is also about 11 miles from Frye Mountain Game Management
Area, a 5241-acre area that allows hunting. This area also has hiking
opportunities, but you are advised to wear blaze orange during hunting season.
Thorndike is 30 Minutes from Waterville, which would be the
closest large city. Waterville has most of what anyone would want or need.
There are several large stores and restaurants, and the Waterville Opera House,
which offers a great array of entertainment. You would also be 30 minutes from
Newport. The land is just a couple of hundred feet from the Thorndike fire
department.
