 This property is located in Bastian, VA in Bland County. In 1964 it was originally built as a restaurant called the Corner Diner. The diner was not only a favorite stop for the local community but it severed numerous customers hiking the Appalachian Trail. Access to the Appalachian Trail is less than 2 miles across the mountain. Since early 1990 after the restaurant closed it was a residence. I'm sure still to this day any local resident of Bland County would say the memories made at this property were endless. Most any Sunday afternoon you could hear the sound of fiddle, banjo and guitars just to name a few of the bluegrass instruments for miles with musicians from 5-7 states as the porch and parking lot was filled. It was the site for several National Public Radio recordings.  With some genuine TLC and substantial remodeling this property could certainly be a commercial or residential home. It is on a nice corner lot and a paved area for parking. It currently has a kitchen with washer and dryer hookup, breakfast area with large built-in counter/bar, 1/2 bath with the potential for a full bath, a large living room and one bedroom that could potentially be two bedrooms. There is a flue where you can add a wood/coal stove for heating or a pellet stove. It would make a potential getaway if you are an outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy hiking the Appalachian Trail or maybe even a restaurant again or grocery store for the hugh number of hikers that come through the town.
