Hogan-14 (#03019–004098) is a ±40-acre tract of
timberland located in southern Union County about nine miles west-southwest of
Strong, AR and thirteen miles southeast of El Dorado, AR (North 33.0782°,
West 92.5087°).
Historical access for the property is via woods road running westward
from Union RD 32 (Hillsboro Road) for approximately ¾-mile to the north
boundary. A pipeline right-of-way
approximately 40ft in width bisects the southwest part of the tract. There are about five acres lying southwest of
the pipeline that contains some mature native pine timber. All merchantable timber was recently
harvested from the rest of the tract and is ready for reforestation. The topography is rolling with various sandy
loam soils that make for a well-drained property. According to the USDA NRCS web soil survey, those
sandy loam soils have a weighted average soil site index of 89.5 feet for
loblolly pine (base age 50 years).
