Buyer Seeks United Country Agent for Multi-Million Dollar Property

John Wilhite, agent and auctioneer with United Country | Hendren and Associations in Jay, Okla., recently sold a $3 million property in Southern Oklahoma. The property was a 1,000 acre working cattle ranch with a home. Wilhite represented the buyer on the deal.

This wasn’t Wilhite’s first run-in with the buyer. Last year, he helped the couple from Arizona try to find land in Oklahoma. They wanted to move out of state after the transfer in the political administration.

“The husband said he told his boss he wanted to get land in Oklahoma and his boss thought it was a great idea,” said Wilhite. “So, his boss said he would buy the land and let the couple run the property with the intention of fully taking it over. The guy already owns five ranches in New Mexico. So, when I found this ranch, he said ‘ok, go for it.’”

The sale was extremely fast. The couple saw the property on Thursday, had an offer in the following Monday and then closed in 30 days! Wilhite said after he worked with the buyers the first time last year, they sought him out specifically for this enormous sale.

“The fact that they wanted to stick with a United Country agent was great. It was important to them because they really liked what we do,” said Wilhite.
