Second Gardner Lake, also known simply as Second Lake,
is a beautiful 1,650-acre warm-water lake in the heart of Washington County,
offering exceptional fishing, boating, paddling, and peaceful lakeside
recreation.

The lake is renowned for its outstanding white perch
fishery, attracting anglers from across the region. From July through
September, fishermen regularly catch healthy 9- to 12-inch white perch, making
it one of the area’s premier destinations for perch fishing.

The Harmon Stream arm of the lake provides ideal habitat
for chain pickerel, where anglers commonly land fish weighing between 1½ and 2½
pounds. Other species found in the lake include smallmouth bass, yellow perch,
smelt, and the occasional landlocked salmon that migrate upstream from Gardner
Lake.

With a maximum depth of approximately 25 feet, Second
Gardner Lake is well suited for kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, swimming,
and boating. Its scenic shoreline, quiet waters, and abundant wildlife make it
an ideal setting for those seeking the classic Maine lake lifestyle, whether
spending a day on the water or enjoying a seasonal getaway.

Located in Marion Township, an unorganized township in
east-central Washington County, the lake offers the privacy and tranquility
that many buyers seek. Marion Township, also known as T13 ED BPP, is served by
the Dennysville Post Office, while municipal services are administered at the
county level. Residents vote in nearby East Machias, the closest incorporated
community to this portion of the township.
