There is a spillway along the Bethel Rd entrance road that controls the water surface elevation. Flood insurance has not been required for the property when applying for a loan in the past. Very minor over-the-shores water level has been mentioned by the previous owner and observed in the past 5 years. Swimming is presently confined to a cove at the campground with rope buoys, and there is a boat launch on the other side of the cove. Guests are allowed to bring their own boat in and launch at that spot for a daily fee, or boat rentals are a staple of the campground operation. Electric motors are used on powered boats, while paddle boats, canoes and kayaks are also very popular.

Large-Mouth Bass fishing has been going on at the lake with day-fishers and overnight/extended stay guests for many years. Crappies are also to be found. There are two campground lakeside decks and lakeside trails though the wooded area of the property.
